Readings include:
- Washington Irving’s “Rip Van Winkle”
- Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Tell-Tale Heart”
- Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Raven”
- Emerson and Thoreau’s Transcendentalist poetry
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s “Paul Revere’s Ride” and “The Village Blacksmith”
- William Cullen Bryant’s “The Poet” and “To a Waterfowl”
All readings are provided online for students enrolled in the class.
